Former Florida Epilepsy Services Director Leonel Marines
Leonel Marines served as the former executive director of Epilepsy Services of Southwest Florida in Fort Myers from 2023. His responsibilities in this position included overseeing strategic initiatives, staff development, and financial management, including fundraising, grant writing, and donor engagement. Leonel Marines was further tasked with providing the board with quarterly reports assessing organizational performance and program outcomes, among other executive duties.
As the former executive director of Epilepsy Services of Southwest Florida, Leonel Marines worked closely with individuals and families throughout the community who had been impacted by epilepsy. In addition to managing operations, he advocated for these community members and supported them as they navigated a variety of medical, social, and financial challenges.
Leonel Marines holds a juris doctor from Western Michigan University's Thomas M. Cooley Law School. He received his undergraduate degree in political science from Florida State University. Beyond his work as the former executive director of Epilepsy Services of Southwest Florida, he enjoys following Florida State Seminoles and San Francisco 49ers football. He is also an English as a Second Language teacher with Project Light.
